** Composite Ranking Explanation and Formula**
* (The New Triple-Power Ranking reflects the Most Elite Teams, who were Top-50 in all 3 National Rankings)
** (Only 35 teams placed in the Top-50 of at least 2 of the 3 National Rankings -NSR, GS, SIC)
The 95G Soccer Composite Ranking objective mathematical placement formula is explained below.
Rankings vary between all three national ranking websites. 100 or more individual teams may comprise the Top-50 of all three ranking websites when combined and examined. Some top-50 teams are represented in all three websites in similar positions, but the majority of teams vary significantly in their placement and inclusion across all three ranking websites(Do to lack of exposure, results submissions, tournaments recorded, etc...)
To avoid bias and impartiality, the formula used to generate The composite ranking list is very simple, and purely mathematical. The 95G Soccer Composite Average Rankings are derived as follows:
composite ranking formula:
1) All teams found in the Top-50 of each of the three ranking websites have their rankings averaged, then the averages themselves are sorted.
2) Only teams appearing in the Top-50 of at least 2 of the national ranking websites are included in the list of The 95G Soccer Composite Average Rankings (so that no single ranking website solely determined position)
The reason why results are excluded if a team is only listed in the Top-50 of one ranking website can best be explained in this example:
Team ABC is ranked #6 in GotSoccer, but is not ranked Nationally in NSR or SIC.
Team XYZ is ranked #4 in GotSoccer, #6 in NSR, and #9 in SIC.
Team ABC's average is: 6.
Team XYZ's average is 4+6+9=19 divided by 3: 6.33
Therefore, if Team ABC were included in the Composite Ranking List, they would rank higher than Team XYZ; which is unequitable and an unfair result.
Team XYZ should have an advantage in Ranking over Team ABC for two reasons: 1) XYZ is ranked two spots higher than ABC in the GotSoccer Ranking. Team XYZ is ranked in the Top-10 in both of the other Ranking Websites, and ABC is not ranked in either.
So that explains why a team that is only ranked in one Ranking Website is excluded from The 95G Soccer Composite Average Rankings.
